Women and children left homeless after the earthquakes in Nepal have reported being attacked in their temporary camps. The Nepalese police are now giving self-defense classes to survivors. The excitement is building as Liter of Light USA and Illac Diaz prepare for their first Maker Faire event in Detroit Michigan this weekend. Maker Faire Detroit returns to The Henry Ford for this family-friendly event that showcases the amazing work of makers, inventors, tinkerers, hackers and do-it-yourselfers. Liter of Light built solar house lights and street lights in Barangay Tungawan, one of the areas heavily affected by the armed conflict in Southern Mindanao.
